In order for a system to be consid-
ered “managed” there must be a
valid interaction between the light-
ing fixtures and the intentions of the
project designers. Management of a
lighting system means setting up a
system that is able to put the project
idea into practice in terms of opera-
tion: the management control tech-
nologies transfer data and informa-
tion inside the system, permitting
therefore a line of communication

An active management system of
lighting must take into considera-
tion the presence of three factors,
without which the system cannot
be considered functional. The first
factor is the designer, the project
idea, or the plant manager. The hu-

is to be obtained from the system;
the person who identifies what is to
be communicated to the light fitting
when any command has to be sent
to it, or the person who receives,
reads and interprets the returning
information if a system of diagnosis
is to be set up.
The second factor is the control
systems, that is to say the combi-
nation of equipment and language
which will allow the “translation” of
the project intentions in a written
command that can be understood

Il primo attore è il progettista, l’idea
progettuale o il gestore del sistema.
La componente umana che deci-

voglia inviare un qualsiasi comando,
oppure coloro i quali ricevono, leg-
